THLD Group, Doowe Gas sign deal to promote sales of autogas

Doowegas and THLD GROUP have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the conversion, usage and sales of autogas (liquefied petroleum gas) vehicles in Nigeria. The agreement was signed by James Atiti; Doowegas chief executive officer and Olajuwan Olusegun, chief executive officer and managing director of THLD Group.

Doowegas is currently the largest online retailer for cooking gas in Nigeria with over 15 retail autogas (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) stations in Lagos alone, and THLD AUTOGAS SYSTEMS BY STAG is on one of the leading technologies in the world in the commercialization of autogas vehicles and has extensive experience and training particularly in Europe where more than 1.7 million vehicles currently run on autogas (Liquefied Petroleum Gas).

Interest in autogas, the world’s most widely-used alternative fuel, with more than 21 million vehicles is growing in Nigeria due to recognition of its environmental and economic advantages – it is 40% cheaper than conventional fuels and offers savings on C02 and air pollution.

His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Babatunde Adeyeye Ogunwusi (ojaja 2) commended and endorses the initiative and encourage willing Nigerians wanting to learn the conversion process as an opportunity to learn.

This agreement is another example of both company’s commitment to the environment, to develop a more sustainable service and to encourage the use of alternative fuels that protect the air quality in cities around the world. The agreement will also mean that the two corporate groups will be able to collaborate in the Nigerian market to develop and provide incentives for the introduction and expansion of the vehicles to LP Gas (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), through their respective service station and dealer networks.

Olajuwan said, “THLD Group has come to Nigeria at the right time. The present economic recession has necessitated Nigerians to looking for alternative but cheaper means of generating power via generator sets and fuelling of their vehicles. There is no better time than now for Nigerians vis-à-vis the governments and corporate bodies to embrace this innovation.”

Meanwhile, Doowegas is also committed to contribute and progress towards more sustainable energy models. Besides obtaining cost savings, by improving energy efficiency and promoting renewable energies, the company seeks to minimize the environmental impact, especially reducing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs)\n
